Amends Minnesota Statutes 2023 Supplement, section 624.712, subdivision 5, to modify the definition of "crime of violence" for firearms crimes purposes.

Removes chapter 152 (drugs and controlled substances) from the definition of crimes of violence.

Retains all violent felony convictions as crimes of violence, including murder, assault, robbery, sexual conduct, kidnapping, arson, burglary, and terroristic threats.

Includes attempts to commit any of the listed violent offenses within the definition of crime of violence.

Referred to Senate Judiciary and Public Safety Committee for consideration.
