S.F. No. 530 - Legion of Merit Special License Plates

• Commissioner shall issue special "LEGION OF MERIT" license plates to recipients of the Legion of Merit who own a passenger automobile, motorcycle, or recreational vehicle and comply with motor vehicle registration requirements.

• Plates are issued free of charge and may be replaced without charge if damaged; no registration fees are charged for subsequent years on vehicles displaying these plates.

• Applications for the plates may only be made at the time of vehicle registration renewal or initial registration.

• Plates may be transferred to another personal motor vehicle registered to the same Legion of Merit recipient upon notification to the commissioner.

• Vehicles with these plates must be for personal use and not for commercial purposes.
