S.F. No. 5308 - Agriculture Appropriations Modification

• Reduces total appropriation for Agriculture, Bioenergy, and Bioproduct Advancement from $37,809,000 to $33,809,000 by modifying Laws 2023, chapter 43, article 1, section 2, subdivision 4.

• Maintains $10,702,000 per year for agriculture research, education, extension, and technology transfer program, with allocations for rapid response fund, avian influenza research, agricultural education, and crop breeding projects.

• Allocates $27,107,000 (first year) and $23,107,000 (second year) for agricultural growth, research, and innovation program supporting livestock operations, value-added businesses, food hubs, and renewable energy infrastructure.

• Designates $5,750,000 annually for incentive payments; $3,375,000 for biofuels infrastructure grants; $1,250,000 for meat and dairy processing facilities; and $4,000,000 (first year only) for dairy farm assistance (DAIRI).

• Establishes base funding of $10,352,000 for agriculture research program and $16,294,000 for agricultural growth program beginning fiscal year 2026, with reporting requirements for Forever Green Initiative and biofuels programs.
