Directors, staff persons, substitutes, and unsupervised volunteers at child care centers must complete pediatric CPR training unless completed within the previous two years.

Pediatric CPR training must be completed prior to unsupervised direct contact with children, but not to exceed the first 90 days of employment.

Training must include instruction, hands-on practice, and in-person observed skills assessment under direct supervision of a CPR instructor.

Training must be provided by organizations using nationally recognized, evidence-based guidelines such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Pediatric CPR training must be repeated at least once every second calendar year, and training completed after the first 90 days of employment may not be used to satisfy in-service training requirements.
