• Commissioner must issue cancer awareness special plates or motorcycle plates to registered owners of passenger automobiles, noncommercial one-ton pickup trucks, motorcycles, or recreational motor vehicles who pay registration tax and applicable fees.

• Applicants must contribute a minimum of $30 annually to a cancer awareness account to obtain the special plates.

• Plate design must be adopted in consultation with representatives from the Minnesota Cancer Alliance.

• Special plates may be transferred to another qualified vehicle registered to the same individual upon payment of a $5 transfer fee.

• Annual contributions are deposited in the cancer awareness account in the special revenue fund, with funds first allocated to administrative costs and remaining funds distributed to Minnesota organizations dedicated to cancer awareness and advocacy, effective January 1, 2024.
