School districts must include child physical and sexual abuse prevention instruction in health curriculum, changing from optional ("may") to mandatory ("must"), effective for the 2026-2027 school year

Instruction must be multisession, multimodal, culturally inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and culturally sensitive, covering topics including identifying emotional and physical abuse, recognizing sexual abuse and assault, boundary violations, grooming tactics, and bystander mobilization

School districts must train instructors on managing disclosures that may occur during abuse prevention instruction and develop policies for responding to such disclosures

"Erin's Law" (section 120B.234) is amended to require rather than encourage districts to provide child sexual abuse prevention instruction to students and training to all school personnel

Districts may consult federal, state, or local agencies and community-based organizations to identify research-based curricula and programs for abuse prevention education
