Automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) must be clearly marked, kept in unlocked locations at each school facility and athletic venue, and accessible within one to three minutes of practice or competition sites

Coaches, assistant coaches, and designated school staff must receive training on CPR and AED use, with emergency response teams required to complete cardiac emergency simulation training at least 30 days before each school year

Minnesota State High School League must adopt a cardiac emergency response plan and ensure a cardiac emergency response team is present at each interscholastic athletic activity

$2,000,000 one-time appropriation from the general fund in fiscal year 2026 to assist schools with AED purchases, CPR equipment, staff training, and educational materials, available until June 30, 2027
