Amends Minnesota Statutes section 609.456, subdivision 2, to require state employees and officers who discover evidence of theft, embezzlement, or unlawful use of public funds to report to law enforcement

Applies to employees and officers of the state, University of Minnesota, and other organizations listed in section 3.971, subdivision 6

Removes the existing exception that allowed employees to delay reporting to the legislative auditor when doing so would interfere with an ongoing criminal investigation

Maintains the existing requirement to promptly report in writing to the legislative auditor with a detailed description of alleged incidents
