Maintains existing law allowing peace officers to temporarily disarm detained individuals during emergencies only when immediately necessary for safety, with required return of firearms upon release

Provides legal remedies for individuals whose rights are violated, including the ability to seek damages, injunctive relief, and immediate return of seized items through district court

Effective the day following final enactment
