Appropriates $2.5 million total ($1,250,000 in FY2026 and $1,250,000 in FY2027) from the arts and cultural heritage fund to the Minnesota Humanities Center for community festival grants

Grants available to community-based organizations, cities, and counties for cultural festivals and events statewide, covering programming, staffing, outreach, transportation, facilities, equipment rentals, and signage

Up to $200,000 may be set aside for public safety expense reimbursement to county sheriff departments supporting funded festivals and events

Priority funding required for nine named events: Somali Museum Annual Celebration, Twin Cities Jazz Fest, Selby Avenue Jazz Fest, Hmong Festival, Cinco de Mayo festival, Rondo Days (St. Paul), Hiddo Soor International Somali Cultural Festival (Plymouth), Safe Summer Nights, and Somali Independence Day (St. Paul)
