Requires prior written informed consent before performing pelvic, breast, urogenital, or rectal examinations on anesthetized or unconscious patients

Applies to health professionals, medical students, and residents in training programs

Exceptions allowed when: the examination is within scope of a consented surgical procedure, the patient is unconscious and examination is medically necessary, or a court orders the examination for evidence collection

Violations constitute a gross misdemeanor and grounds for disciplinary action by the relevant health licensing board

Effective August 1, 2025, applying to offenses committed on or after that date
