Commissioner of Health shall establish a pilot program to reduce trauma from gun violence through four components: investing in community-based organizations, training trauma navigators to provide stabilization services, supporting family reintegration services, and developing culturally appropriate education campaigns

Trauma navigators will be trained in trauma-informed care to help families access child care, housing, mental health services, physical health services, economic support, and education after gun violence occurs

A 10-member advisory panel will be convened to develop program guidelines, review pilot activities, and communicate with communities; members must have backgrounds in trauma, healing, motivational interviewing, or related skills and will meet at least monthly

$5,000,000 appropriated from the general fund in fiscal year 2026, available until June 30, 2028

Commissioner must submit a progress report to legislative committees with jurisdiction over health and public safety by February 1, 2027
