Exempts critical access hospitals in Cook County with attached nursing homes from the standard 40-day maximum stay limit and prior hospitalization requirements for swing bed patients

Allows qualifying Cook County hospital swing beds to provide nursing facility services without requiring patients to have a prior hospital stay

Services provided in these exempt swing beds are covered as medical assistance services under Minnesota Medicaid and eligible for Medical Assistance reimbursement

Qualifying hospitals must be designated as critical access hospitals under both state (section 144.1483) and federal law (42 U.S.C. 1395i-4)
