Amends Minnesota Statutes section 43A.27, subdivision 3 to expand eligibility for the state group insurance program

Allows spouses of eligible retired state employees to purchase hospital, medical, and dental coverage if the retired employee loses eligibility due to enrolling in Medical Assistance (Medicaid) under chapter 256B

Spouse eligibility under the new provision requires the retired employee to have a disability meeting the categorical eligibility requirements of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program

Spouse must have been a dependent under the retired employee's coverage at the time the retiree lost eligibility
