School districts and charter schools are encouraged to provide instruction on healthy aging and dementia to students in grades 6 through 12, aligned with local health standards

Instruction should be integrated into existing programs, curriculum, or the general school environment rather than as a standalone requirement

Commissioner of Education must provide age-appropriate resources to schools by July 1, 2026, and every even-numbered year thereafter, developed in consultation with the Commissioner of Health and dementia advocacy organizations

Required resources must include strategies to maintain brain health, information on Alzheimer's disease and other dementia forms, and guidance on caring for elders with cognitive impairment

Effective date: July 1, 2025
