Counties and cities may conduct state and federal criminal background checks on applicants seeking licenses to operate adult entertainment establishments or massage service businesses

"Applicant for licensure" includes individual applicants and, for business entities, all officers, directors, managers, and general partners

Applicants must submit a signed consent form, full set of classifiable fingerprints, and required fees to the county or city

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension conducts Minnesota criminal history checks and may exchange fingerprints with the FBI for national criminal records

Failure to cooperate with the background check process constitutes reasonable cause to deny a license application
