Appropriates $100,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $100,000 in fiscal year 2027 from the arts and cultural heritage fund ($200,000 total)

Funds go to the Minnesota Humanities Center director to grant to a nonprofit for operating a statewide youth poet laureate program

Program would select a Minnesota Youth Poet Laureate ages 13-19 through a competitive process modeled after the National Youth Poet Laureate program

Program must also provide opportunities to celebrate and highlight the work of the Youth Poet Laureate and other young writers in Minnesota
