Commissioner of Health must establish a task force on prevention of female genital mutilation (FGM) to strengthen education, outreach, and enforcement of state and federal laws prohibiting FGM

Task force membership of up to 15 members appointed by November 1, 2025, including FGM survivors, community leaders, public health professionals, and law enforcement; first meeting required by January 1, 2026

Task force duties include developing public education strategies, raising awareness through school and healthcare partnerships, improving data collection among agencies, and recommending resources to protect children from FGM

Annual reports required to the governor, attorney general, and relevant legislative committees on task force activities and outreach efforts; task force does not expire and must meet at least four times per year

General fund appropriations for fiscal years 2026 and 2027 (amounts not yet specified) to support the task force
