Reenacts Laws 2024, chapter 127, article 36, section 3 (straw purchase crime provisions) retroactively and without interruption from August 1, 2024

Repeals Minnesota Statutes section 624.7141, subdivision 4, which provided an affirmative defense for family or household members who transferred firearms to ineligible persons under compulsion or threat of violence

The repealed defense previously required proof by clear and convincing evidence that the defendant acted due to reasonable fear of substantial bodily harm or death from the transferee

Both provisions take effect the day following final enactment
