Amends Minnesota Statutes section 198.01 to create an exception allowing the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs to close a veterans home upon receiving an involuntary termination notice from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

Current law prohibits closing a veterans home unless specifically authorized by legislation enacted after July 1, 2015; this bill adds a narrow exception for federal compliance issues

Requires all residents to be safely transferred, relocated, or discharged to appropriate settings under section 144A.161, subdivision 6, before any closure can occur

Mandates the commissioner provide closure notice to the governor and the chairs and ranking minority members of legislative committees with jurisdiction over veterans affairs
