Establishes a permanent Interagency Council on Student Attendance to improve coordination among state agencies, counties, school districts, and charter schools to address chronic absenteeism

Governor appoints 16 members including representatives from nine state agencies (Education, Children/Youth/Families, Public Safety, Human Services, Transportation, Health, Human Rights, Corrections, Higher Education), Tribal Nations Education Committee, Minnesota Youth Council, and education/county associations

Council must meet at least quarterly and submit annual reports beginning November 1, 2027, to the governor and legislative education committees with policy and funding recommendations

Department of Education must provide meeting space and administrative support upon request; council does not have an expiration date

Appropriates general fund money to the Department of Education beginning fiscal year 2027, with ongoing base funding for fiscal year 2028 and beyond (specific dollar amounts not yet filled in)
