Commissioner of Education must establish and award standard high school diplomas to armed forces veterans who did not complete graduation requirements, based on knowledge and experience gained during military service

Qualifying service includes veterans who served in the Korean Conflict, Vietnam War, or left any public or nonpublic school prior to graduation to serve on active duty

Eligible veterans must be current Minnesota residents, previously enrolled in a Minnesota high school, or were Minnesota residents at time of death, and must have received an honorable discharge

Veterans or their families (posthumously) may apply through a process prescribed by the Commissioner of Education, with the Departments of Education and Veterans Affairs required to assist with applications
