County auditors and municipal clerks must electronically submit applications to the Secretary of State for verification if not already verified through the state's online application system

Unverifiable applications must be reviewed by the Secretary of State for suspicious activity and forwarded to law enforcement for investigation

Permanent absentee voters must be re-verified against government databases 60-75 days before each regularly scheduled primary and general election; unverified voters will have their status changed to "challenged" and be removed from the permanent absentee list with notification

Effective July 1, 2026, applying to applications submitted and elections occurring on or after that date
