Department of Public Safety's Office of Justice Programs must establish a pilot project to assess, prevent, and respond to visible and concealed threats in schools, contracting with a vendor for advanced threat monitoring, real-time alerts, and rapid response capabilities

Services may use predictive analytics and artificial intelligence-driven software, must integrate with existing school security systems, and coordinate door-locking mechanisms to keep threats outside buildings

One school district in each congressional district will be selected to participate, including both large and small districts; districts with similar existing systems are ineligible

Commissioner of Public Safety must submit a report to legislature by January 15, 2027, evaluating effectiveness, gathering stakeholder feedback, and providing recommendations for statewide implementation

$4,000,000 appropriated from the general fund in fiscal year 2027 to implement the pilot project
