Prohibits children in publicly funded preschool and kindergarten programs from using individual-use screens (tablets, smartphones, or other digital media) while at school sites

Strengthens existing law by changing from a "limit" on screen time to a complete "prohibition," and removes the previous exception that allowed screen use with teacher or student engagement

Exempts children with an individualized family service plan (IFSP), individualized education program (IEP), or 504 plan from the prohibition

Effective date: July 1, 2026
