Requires local fire chiefs (or mayors/town clerks where no fire department exists) to report any fire involving an alternative energy system to the state fire marshal, including cause, origin, circumstances, financial damage, and injuries or deaths

Defines "alternative energy system" as systems collecting energy from wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, or other renewable sources for heating, cooling, or power generation

Mandates the state fire marshal submit an annual summary of these fire reports to legislative committees with fire safety jurisdiction by February 15 each year

Creates new section 299F.038 in Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 299F
