Prescriptions must specify whether the condition is temporary or permanent, the minimum light transmittance percentage needed, and include an expiration date no more than two years out (unless the condition is permanent)

Drivers may use a prescription issued to a family member or person they serve as a personal care attendant, provided the prescription specifies the vehicle's make, model, and license plate

Effective retroactively from July 1, 2025, applying to prescriptions issued on or after that date
