Guide must include candidate statements and photos for federal, statewide, and legislative offices, with word limits ranging from 100 words (state legislators, district judges) to 300 words (president, governor, U.S. representatives and senators)

Constitutional amendment proposals must include the full text, ballot title, explanatory statements from the revisor of statutes, fiscal notes, and legislative vote counts

Guide must be written in English and the three most commonly spoken non-English languages, with electronic versions and audio recordings available upon request at no cost

Publishing campaign materials deceptively similar to the official guide is prohibited, with civil fines of up to $5 per copy distributed or $10,000, whichever is greater
