Public and private cemeteries may allow domesticated dogs, cats, or chickens to be buried with human bodies in green burials if the animal died no more than 72 hours before burial

Animals must not be embalmed, must be enclosed in biodegradable caskets, shrouds, or containers, and cannot be placed in vaults or outer burial containers

Cremated remains of domesticated dogs, cats, or chickens may be buried with human bodies or human cremated remains if placed in biodegradable containers or shrouds

Chickens buried under these provisions are exempt from Minnesota Rules parts 1721.0690 to 1721.0740

Amends Minnesota Statutes sections 306.991 (public cemeteries) and 307.14 (private cemeteries) by adding new subdivision 7 regarding animal burials
