Amends Minnesota Statutes section 121A.041 to change how public schools can obtain exemptions from the prohibition on American Indian mascots

Eliminates the previous process requiring schools to submit written requests to all 11 federally recognized Tribal Nations and the Tribal Nations Education Committee by September 1, 2023

Creates a new exemption allowing public schools to use American Indian mascots if an American Indian Tribe located in the same county does not object

Grants automatic exemption from the mascot prohibition to public schools located in counties where no American Indian Tribe exists

Removes the September 1, 2026 compliance deadline that previously applied to schools whose exemption requests were denied
