School districts must adopt policies ensuring parents who require language assistance can meaningfully participate in developing their child's Individualized Education Program (IEP), including free translation and interpretation services and providing documents at least one day before IEP meetings

Districts must post language assistance policies on their website in English and the three most common languages in the district, and notify parents of children with disabilities annually

School districts must establish a process to provide reasonable accommodations for parents with disabilities participating in their child's IEP development, unless it would impose undue hardship on the district

Districts cannot request or require parents to disclose private health information or authorize release of medical records to determine disability status; accommodation requests are treated as private data

Districts must respond to accommodation requests within five school days, and IEP deadlines not established by federal law are paused while accommodation requests are resolved; effective date is July 1, 2025
