Medical Assistance (Medicaid) coverage established for psychiatric collaborative care model services, integrating behavioral health into primary care through teams consisting of a primary care provider, behavioral health care manager, and psychiatric consultant

Eligible individuals include those diagnosed with mental illness, substance use disorder, or other behavioral health conditions by a treating medical provider

Providers must be enrolled in Minnesota Health Care Programs, use electronic health records and patient registries, obtain patient consent, and attest to fidelity with the collaborative care model

Reimbursement set at current Medicare rates, with the Commissioner required to collect outcome data and regularly review rates for sustainability

$500,000 appropriated in FY2026 and $500,000 in FY2027 for start-up grants covering provider training, patient registry establishment, and initial patient enrollment; effective January 1, 2026, or upon federal approval
