School boards must report each fight involving pupils witnessed by a district employee to the Commissioner of Education through the electronic reporting system within 30 days

District employees who witness student fights must report the incident to the building administrator responsible for discipline and must file a police report

School boards must verify that a police report was filed by the employee who witnessed the fight when reporting to the department

The Department of Education must include aggregated data on student fights witnessed by district employees in annual school performance reports under section 120B.36

Reports must include the pupil's age, grade, gender, race, and special education status
