Requires voter approval at the 2026 general election before the regional transportation sales and use tax can continue in each of the seven Twin Cities metropolitan counties (Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington)

Each county's voters decide separately whether to approve the tax, with only counties where a majority votes in favor remaining in the "authorized area" subject to the tax after December 31, 2026

Maintains the current 0.75% regional transportation sales and use tax rate across the entire metropolitan area through December 31, 2026

Beginning January 1, 2027, the Metropolitan Council would impose the tax only in counties where voters approved it, effectively allowing individual counties to opt out of the regional tax
