Government entities are prohibited from seeking, obtaining, borrowing, or purchasing reverse-location data (tracking devices in a geographic area) or reverse-keyword data (identifying who searched for specific terms or visited specific websites)

Courts are prohibited from issuing reverse-location or reverse-keyword warrants, subpoenas, or court orders, and cannot enforce such orders issued by other states

A "sudden emergency" exception applies only when the governor has declared a peacetime emergency for events like natural disasters, terrorist incidents, or hazardous materials accidents

Evidence obtained through reverse-location or reverse-keyword requests is inadmissible in criminal, civil, or administrative proceedings, including any evidence derived from such data

Individuals whose information was improperly obtained may bring civil action against the government entity and recover $1,000 per violation or actual damages (whichever is greater), plus punitive damages and attorney fees
