Class D road skills examination appointments must be made available six months in advance, with a tiered release schedule: 50% available at three months, 75% at two months, and 100% at one month before the exam date

Only applicants who reside in the same city/zip code as an exam station, or in an adjacent city/zip code, may book appointments earlier than one month in advance

Eligible applicants must be able to obtain a road skills examination appointment within 14 days of their request

The Division of Driver and Vehicle Services website must display real-time information on exam availability, including next available dates/times for each station and a feature to search by address sorted by distance

Effective August 1, 2025, for examinations on or after that date
