Health plans must cover clinical genetic testing for inherited gene mutations when recommended by a provider for enrollees with personal or family history of cancer

Coverage is exempt from all cost-sharing including deductibles, co-payments, and coinsurance, with no quantity limitations allowed

Exception applies for health savings account (HSA) or catastrophic plan enrollees, who may be subject to deductibles to maintain federal eligibility requirements

Effective January 1, 2027, applying to health plans offered, issued, or renewed on or after that date
