Expands eligibility for school-age care programs beyond the current kindergarten through grade 6 population to include certain prekindergarten children

Newly eligible prekindergarten children include those with disabilities as defined under Minnesota Statutes section 125A.02, subdivision 1 or 1a

Also extends eligibility to prekindergarten children experiencing family or related problems of a temporary nature

Amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 124D.19, subdivision 11, which governs school-age care programs offered through community education programs

School boards retain authority to offer these programs directly or allow insured community groups, for-profit entities, or nonprofit organizations to use school facilities
