Prohibits fraudulently misrepresenting oneself or an organization as speaking, writing, or acting on behalf of any candidate, political party, committee, or political organization

Prohibits fraudulent misrepresentation when soliciting money or anything of value by falsely claiming to represent a candidate, party, or political organization

Criminalizes conspiracy to participate in schemes violating these misrepresentation prohibitions

Violations constitute a gross misdemeanor, with civil penalties up to $1,000 per violation available in addition to damages, investigation costs, and attorney fees

Effective August 1, 2025, for crimes and causes of action occurring on or after that date
