Aitkin Public School District receives a sales and use tax exemption for materials, supplies, and equipment used in construction projects purchased between June 1, 2025, and January 1, 2028

Eligible projects include a prekindergarten through grade 6 elementary school, bus transportation facility, community wellness center, and high school

Sales tax must be paid at the point of purchase and then refunded to the district, with refunds not issued until after June 30, 2025

Refund amounts are appropriated from the state general fund to the commissioner of revenue
