Commissioner of Transportation must convene a Safe School Bus Site Development Work Group by August 1, 2025, to evaluate strategies for safe placement of school bus stop locations and recommend legislative changes

Work group membership includes 4 legislators, state agency representatives (Transportation, Education, Public Safety, State Patrol), school transportation organizations, disability advocates, school boards, engineers, and national safety organizations

Work group must analyze school bus stop safety by examining current policies, incident data, design factors, risk assessment criteria, traffic conditions, pedestrian accessibility, visibility standards, and community engagement frameworks

Minimum of 12 meetings required, with an interim report due March 1, 2027 and final report due May 1, 2027; work group expires June 30, 2027

Appropriates an unspecified amount from the general fund in fiscal year 2026 to the Commissioner of Transportation for the work group, available until June 30, 2027
