Amends Minnesota Statutes section 169.812 to require the commissioner to specify escort vehicle requirements in permits for overdimensional loads, changing "may" to "must"

Allows the commissioner to authorize fewer escort vehicles than normally required if the carrier establishes alternative safety measures

Retains existing escort requirements: no escort needed for loads 15 feet or less wide at bottom (16 feet at top); one rear escort on divided highways for wider loads; lead and rear escorts on undivided roads for wider loads

Maintains requirement for two escort vehicles plus a lead licensed peace officer when loads extend beyond the centerline on undivided roadways and create hazardous conditions

Effective date is July 1, 2025
