Commissioner of Education must establish and award standard high school diplomas to armed forces veterans who did not complete graduation requirements, based on knowledge and experience gained during military service

Qualifying service includes veterans who served in the Korean Conflict, Vietnam War, or left any public or nonpublic school prior to graduation to serve on active duty

Eligible veterans must be current Minnesota residents, have previously attended a Minnesota high school, or have been Minnesota residents at time of death

Veterans must have received an honorable discharge as verified by the Department of Veterans Affairs

Applications may be submitted by the veteran or posthumously by the veteran's family, with the Departments of Education and Veterans Affairs required to assist with the application process
