Expands existing law requiring access to apartment buildings, nursing homes, manufactured home parks, and other multi-unit residences to include elected officials in addition to candidates for office

Elected officials and candidates may access facilities within their district for official work, campaigning, or voter registration, accompanied by staff or volunteers

"Elected official" is defined as anyone elected or appointed to federal, statewide, legislative, judicial, or local office (including school districts, towns, and counties), excluding president, vice president, and presidential electors

Officials and candidates must be permitted to knock on doors, speak with residents, and leave materials, with access guaranteed between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. daily

Violations are classified as a petty misdemeanor; facilities may still require identification, appointments, and may deny access for good cause or valid health reasons in nursing homes
