Appropriates funding from the workforce development fund in fiscal year 2027 (amount unspecified) to the Commissioner of Employment and Economic Development for competitive grants supporting maternity unit training at rural hospitals

Eligible recipients include rural hospitals and higher education institutions developing cross-training programs to equip medical personnel with rural maternity care skills

"Eligible rural hospital" defined as nonfederal, general acute care hospitals in communities under 30,000 population, located outside the seven-county metropolitan area

Commissioner must submit report to legislature by January 15, 2028, detailing grant amounts awarded, number and occupations of staff trained, grantee feedback, and unfulfilled grant requests
