Commissioner of Agriculture must establish a rotational grazing pilot program awarding grants to Minnesota farmers for projects that enhance prairie and woodland use while protecting surface or drinking water sources

Grants fund two purposes: establishing perennial forages for rotational grazing, or purchasing infrastructure such as fencing, watering systems, and livestock management equipment

Maximum grant per recipient is $25,000, with a required 50% match from the farmer in services, materials, or cash; funds disbursed on reimbursement basis within six months of project completion

$2,000,000 appropriated from the environment and natural resources trust fund in fiscal year 2027 to fund the program

Commissioner must report to legislative committees by January 15, 2028 on grant results including number, amounts, and county distribution of awards
