Testing must cover all wells within a two-mile radius of the proposed project, with samples collected by an independent third-party contractor and analyzed at a Department of Health-accredited laboratory

Landowner consent is required before sampling any well; landowners who consent receive free access to their well's test results

"Rural area" is defined as any area outside the boundaries of statutory or home rule charter cities

Test results must be submitted to the Environmental Quality Board for database maintenance and to the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office
