Hunters who legally harvest a deer may donate it to licensed meat processors for distribution to charitable food assistance programs, and must provide their DNR license number

Donated deer must be supplied as the entire carcass with the hide still attached

Meat processors may process a portion of the donated deer for the donor's personal use if the donor requests it and pays the processing cost for that portion
