Expands the requirement to file statements of economic interest from only county commissioners to all local officials elected to or appointed by political subdivisions and metropolitan governmental units

Requires local officials to disclose potential conflicts of interest by preparing written statements and delivering copies to their immediate superior and the presiding officer of their governing body

Local candidates and local officials must file statements of economic interest with their political subdivision's governing body rather than the state Campaign Finance Board, which must maintain these as public data

Officials who cannot abstain from matters involving potential conflicts must file a statement describing the conflict and action taken within one week

Effective date is January 1, 2027
