Expands existing personal information protections currently available to judicial officials to include current and former members of the Minnesota legislature, changing the statutory term from "judicial official" to "covered official"

Protected personal information includes residential addresses of the official and their family members, personal phone numbers and email addresses, names of children, and names of schools or childcare facilities attended by their children

Creates a 12-member legislative task force to study personal information protections for government officials, including members from the Legislative Commission on Data Practices, appointees from the secretary of state, commissioner of administration, chief justice, and Minnesota Association of County Officers

Task force must convene by August 1, 2026, meet at least monthly, and submit a report with recommendations by January 15, 2027, after which it expires

Appropriates an unspecified amount from the general fund in fiscal year 2026 for the task force, and directs the revisor of statutes to recode personal information protection laws as chapter 10B
